Thomas Redfearn (1746 - 1815) Master Glazier of Mill Pond Street, Bermondsey, London, England. His last will and testament proved on the 23rd August 1815 is now available in photo format over three pages.

Richard Tantum (b. 1763) the son of Francis Tantum and Elizabeth Redfearne is named as a trustee in the will of Thomas Redfearn (1746 - 1815) and is described as "my good friend Richard Tantum of Heanor in the county of Derby" and it is certain that Thomas's grandson Richard Tantum Redfearn (1831 - 1911) was named in his honour. Elizabeth Redfearne also had a brother Thomas, born in Heanor and baptised in 1746 so there is a possibility that he could be our Thomas who later moved to London. But, if so, surely Thomas would have described him as "nephew" rather than "my good friend".
Richard Tantum Redfearn (1831 - 1911) was sentenced to 7 years penal servitude on the 17th April 1875 in Dublin for a bigamous marriage to Ellen O'Leary on the 1st November 1872. After serving his sentence he then married Elizabeth Morgan in 1883.
Charles Richard Redfearn (1858 - 1940) the son of Richard Tantum Redfearn and Elizabeth Snow was tried at the Old Bailey in 1895 for a similar offence and found guilty of bigamy by marrying Sarah Ann Barker in 1892 and sentenced to 3 years penal servitude.
